MSDS for Category I Hospitals

MSDS indicators include the fundamental elements that should be present in all category I HCEs, i.e. hospitals having 50+ beds, in order to deliver safe healthcare services. These indicators cover both clinical and managerial aspects of healthcare service delivery.

This Reference Manual details and elaborates upon all the 30 Standards and 162 indicators prescribed in the MSDS for category I hospitals and provides guidelines to facilitate their implementation.

MSDS and Reference Manual for Category II A HCEs
|
|
This set of standards applies to Category II A Hospitals/HCEs, having between 31 and 49 beds, and providing indoor services. A total of 34 Standards and 152 Indicators are prescribed in the MSDS for Category II A Hospitals/HCEs.

MSDS and Reference Manual for Category II B HCEs
|
|
The MSDS for Category II B HCEs applies to HCEs with a bed strength between 16 and 30 beds, providing specialized indoor services. The MSDS includes 30 standards and 122 indicators, grouped across 10 functional areas encompassing all aspects of healthcare service delivery.

|
|
The MSDS for Category II C HCEs applied to HCEs that have up to 15 beds and provide semi-specialized/specialized indoor services. The MSDS incorporates 30 standards and 118 indicators, grouped in 10 functional areas encompassing all aspects of healthcare service delivery.

|
The MSDS and Reference Manual for GP Clinics, Specialist Clinics and Clinics of Family Physicians incorporates 18 standards and 47 associated indicators, primarily designed to streamline and standardize the delivery of healthcare services at these clinics across Punjab.

The MSDS and Reference Manual for Clinical Laboratories, mainly operating in the private sector, have been developed in line with their scope of services. Comprising of guidelines that elaborate on 37 standards and 118 indicators, this documents aims to facilitate the implementation of the MSDS.

The MSDS for Dental Clinics, mainly operating in the private sector, have been developed in line with their scope of services and cater to the specialized practices at these HCEs. The MSDS comprises of 23 standards and 74 associated indicators.

Guidelines for Collection Centre’s, Clinical Laboratories
|
|
Based on the standards and set of indicators provided in the approved MSDS for Clinical Laboratories, this document has been developed to facilitate and regulate the working of Collection Centres. These guidelines are mainly based on the parameters already provided in MSDS for Clinical Laboratories, keeping the view the key operational and patient safety aspects. Further, Covid-19 related safety requirements prescribed for collection of samples for suspected Covid-19 patients have also been incorporated in the said guidelines
